adidas and Parley‘s sustainable PRIMEBLUE material has arrived on the UltraBOOST 20. Made partly of recycled plastic collected from beaches and costal communities, PRIMEBLUE debuted around Super Bowl LIV in February and then appeared on an adidas Golf collection — but this marks its full rollout in the world of adidas Running.
Though the material used on this new PRIMEBLUE UltraBOOST may differ slightly from previous models, no performance is sacrificed in the hunt for sustainability. White Primeknit uppers feature Tailored Fiber Placement technology for an adaptive, responsive fit, while midfoot cages and heel clips add support and structure. These pieces also handle a lion’s share of the detailing: the cage adds a rough-hewn blue Three Stripe graphic, and the clip takes on a vibrant orange hue. Tongues add a little detail to the mix as well by way of an orange PRIMEBLUE hit.
Down below, a signature white BOOST footbed provides the ultra-comfortable cushioning that’s become synonymous with the line over the past five years. There’s even more here for BOOST lovers as well: the UltraBOOST 20 adds 20 percent more BOOST material than previous models like the UltraBOOST 19 or UltraBOOST 4.0. White Continental rubber outsoles with dashes of orange and blue in the midfoot complete the look.
